NEW YORK STATE SNOWMOBILE REGISTRATION
All snowmobiles operated in New York State must have a valid New York State snowmobile registration and display the current validation sticker.
Please note: A New York State snowmobile registration is separate from the Town of Webb Snowmobile Trail Permit required to ride the Town of Webb trail system.
NYS SNOWMOBILE REGISTRATION FEES
$65 per snowmobile with a current NYSSA club membership voucher
$135 per snowmobile without a NYSSA club membership voucher
Joining a snowmobile club recognized by the New York State Snowmobile Association (NYSSA) can save you $70 on each snowmobile registration.
JOIN A SNOWMOBILE CLUB
The Towns of Webb and Inlet encourage riders to support the clubs that help maintain and promote snowmobiling throughout the region.
Local clubs near our trail system include:
- Beaver River Association of Snowmobilers & Skiers (BRASS)
- Inlet Barnstormers Snowmobile Club
- Trackside Blazers Snowmobile Club
- Brantingham Snowmobile Club
You may also join or renew membership in a NYSSA-recognized snowmobile club online and print the voucher needed to receive the discounted NYS registration fee.
RENEW YOUR NYS SNOWMOBILE REGISTRATION
Snowmobile registrations must be renewed annually.
Register early to make sure you receive your current registration and validation sticker before hitting the trails.
VISITING FROM OUT OF STATE?
New York State registration is required for out-of-state snowmobiles operated in New York.
If your snowmobile is currently registered in your home state, you may be able to register it for use in New York completely online.
Eligible out-of-state residents can receive a temporary 15-day NYS registration immediately after completing the online transaction, allowing you to ride while your permanent registration and validation sticker are mailed to you.
To use the online service, your snowmobile must already be registered in your name in another U.S. state and be used recreationally in New York.
Have the following information ready:
- Out-of-state driver's license or ID information
- Social Security Number
- Current out-of-state snowmobile registration information
- Snowmobile year, make, color and engine size
- NYSSA voucher number, if applicable
- Credit or debit card for payment
REGISTERING BY MAIL OR IN PERSON
If you are unable to complete your registration online, snowmobile registration applications may also be processed through a New York State DMV office.
The Snowmobile Registration Application (MV-82SN) and current registration requirements are available from the New York State DMV.
Because documentation requirements vary depending on whether the snowmobile is new, used, currently registered in another state or being registered in New York for the first time, we recommend reviewing the current NYS DMV requirements before mailing an application.
