July 1 – July 11 Adirondack Theme Exhibition “All in the Family” - Arts Center/Old Forge. This is an open show, juried for awards.  Artwork in all fine art media, including mixed media and sculpture. Also on display are Betsy Blodgett and daughter Lindsay, Sally Clark and her sons Steve & Tim , and Stanley Maltzman and daughter Susan.  Admission: $3/$2 members.

Winifred Adams’ jewelry Beauty and Balance will be on display in the glass case through the month of July.  Beauty and Balance combines rich color with the inherent energetics of semi-precious stones and the aesthetics of balance.  Winifred has created a line that everyone and anyone can wear, enjoy and be healed by.

July 18 – August 17 Central Adirondack Art Show - Arts Center/Old Forge. This is a fine arts exhibit of acrylics, oils, watercolors, drawings, pastels, graphics, mixed media and sculpture (clay, bronze, ceramic, stone, or wood). The Show consists of two sections: The Master Division and the Open Show. The CADK is designed to challenge the professional artist and to encourage the beginning artist.

July 20 Cabin Concert - Carrolle Mochernuk, pianist, is a graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada, and later studied at Juilliard.  She made her debut in New York’s Town Hall, concertizing in Canada, the US and Europe.  Miriam Davis Kashiwa  will again be presenting three exciting piano afternoon performances this summer for your enjoyment at the “Cabin in the Woods” in Thendara at 2pm. The piano concert series is performed on the 1908 Steinway Concert B formerly owned by the family of entertainer and composer Charles Fremont Davis, the late father of Miriam Davis Kashiwa, sponsor and hostess. Series: Couple $500, Single $250. $100 per concert.  Admission will benefit the Ecology Gallery of the new Arts Center.

Volume Two titled "Where Did the Tracks Go in the Central Adirondacks?" covers the New York Central's Adirondack Division from Herkimer and Utica to the Malone Junction and Lake Placid and other railroads in the Town of Webb. Dec. 12-14 32nd ANNUAL SNODEO - Snodeo is the “kick-off” weekend for the 2008/2009 snowmobile season. On Friday morning, watch the exciting Snowmobile Manufacturer’s Challenge in Woodgate, NY, and then Snodeo will be open 3pm-7pm. On Saturday, Snodeo will be open from 10am until 5pm. There will be seminars scheduled, and the 120cc races for our next generation of snowmobilers. Take a chance to win a new snowmobile of your choice from 5 models offered, along with cash prizes and many other giveaways. Top off the evening with our spectacular fireworks display. On Sunday, Snodeo will be opened from 10am until 2pm, with the snowmobile raffle drawing at 1pm. Call the Town of Webb Visitor Center at (315) 369-6983. Dec 13 - 6th ANNUAL CENTRAL ADIRONDACK VINTAGE SNOWMOBILE SHOW  - 10am - 4pm. Featured presentation of the 32nd Annual Snodeo held at the George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center on North Street in Old Forge. FREE admission and registration, plaques awarded to all participants, no pre-registration. Sponsored by the Central Adirondack Association.

Dec. 13  BEST LITTLE HOLIDAY COOKIE IN THE ADIRONDACKS CONTEST  - Arts Center/Old Forge.  Participants should bring one dozen cookies for competition to the Arts Center by 1 pm for judging. A cookie tasting reception that is open to all will follow the judging. All ages are welcome to participate. There will be a First and Second place award for both the adult and children divisions.  For more information call 315-369-6411.

Dec. 21 BIG MOOSE CHAPEL'S ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CANDLELIGHT SERVICE

Celebrate the season in this beautiful and historic church in the woods at 4pm.  All are welcome.
